Is using Flashplayer risky for Linux Lite - should I use HTML5 instead?
#11
I run Linux without Flashplayer and i don't run into any problems as long i'm not visiting sites that uses Flash. Beside that, i avoid as much as possible sites that run on Flash.

So yes, you can run Linux without Flash.

It looks like I am joining this party well after the proverbial fact. I recently got infected with a bit of malware. This malware creeates a pop-up window every 2 minutes telling me to download some security software to get rid of the malware. It is clear to me that I need to install security software. After reading this thread it sounds like I ought to install "Sophos". Is this still the software you would recommend? If so, should I just go to the website to download and install it?

Thank you,

Kevin

This thread is 10 years old.  Not the place to look for up to date information. Better to start a fresh thread.

That said, Sophos appears to be paid for software aimed at business.

As far as I am aware, there is not a specific antimalware application recommended for use with Linux Lite.
The utility usually mentioned in association with Linux Lite is clam which has a brief tutorial on the wiki.
