Good day everyone. I am a Partially sighted Linux user. Just started using Linux lite. I have recently installed it on an AMD laptop however, I am running into booting issues. The system works perfectly if it is plugged into the power supply however, it will boot to a black screen without power. I have searched everywhere, even found other threads with this problem but have not found a solution
Can someone please help

| Remastering LL for OEM use? |

I'm not really sure if this post belongs here or under a "support" board.
Let's say I obtained various older computers with the intent of refurbishing them and giving them away and/or selling them to cover time/materials invested. Let's also say for this example that I wanted to use Linux Lite, but wanted to tweak it a bit and maybe include some software of my own.
I'm aware that I could just install as normal, then tweak the installed distro, but that would be a lot of work if I had to do it, say, 100 times. I noticed there is an OEM option. So, I was thinking about a remaster option. I know some other distros have "proper" methods of doing such, but I seem to not be able to really find much information on that for Linux Lite. I figure that in this use case scenario, although it might be a pain in the butt to do a remaster, it would be easier in the long-run to remaster Linux Lite, then use the remaster for OEM installs on various computers.
So my question is, is there a "proper" way to do this? Is there a manual/how-to for this? Any tools made for this?
Just to note, I am not doing the above use case scenario at this time, but, I have been in such a situation and there is a chance I will be again in the future. I do occasionally refurbish old computers and I prefer to put Linux on them. I was using MX Linux, but it seems Linux Lite might be better suited for those situations as it seems a lot easier to use for new users. Hope everyone is doing well.

First off, hello. I am new to Linux Lite but not new to Linux in general. This post is my first and is aimed at bringing attention to little issues I have spotted during multiple installations of and the use of Linux Lite. I might alter this post if/when I find other issues or have other suggestions.
* (issue/oversight?) There is no "python" command, only python2. Scripts looking for "python" fail due to this. One example is youtube-dl.
* (suggestion) ffmpeg is not install by default. Using youtube-dl as another example, it needs it.
* (issue/usability) The grub boot menu after you hit "e" to edit is very difficult to impossible to read due to the feather logo. Redoing the boot design might be a good idea for usability.
* (issue) Ctrl+C doesn't cancel filesystem checks when booting from USB despite it saying it will.
* (issue/annoyance) Right before the login prompt when starting, the audio "pops". This pop also happens right before playing videos in a browser, every video. I have not verified if it happens with videos from the hard drive.
* (suggestion) I came from MX Linux and I found their "quick system info" tool to be very useful. When ran, it would gather all the needed system info, redact private bits, format the output to be able to be pasted right into a forum post, and copy it to the clipboard all without the user dealing with it. Something similar might be useful for Linux Lite.
See attachment for hardware information.
EDIT: I found the "quick system info" tool that MX uses and it is a bash script.

Just a quick shout out to Jerry Bezencon, I followed the directions to upgrade my system to Linux Lite 5.4 and without a doubt it was among the EASIEST, smoothest upgrades I have ever done.
It was a sharp contrast to the struggle i had upgrading my college age daughters year old Windows 10 laptop. She had ignored the laptops pitiful pleas to update and began having issues last week so I looked at it yesterday and spent several hours installing
various updates and rebooting it until it was finally stable. Note that I am not knocking Windows, I have used it for years and even use Visual Studio to support insurance software but I am amazed at how easy it is to upgrade Linux vs Windows.

Hello All,
I noticed in version 3.8 of LL that I have on an older AMD desktop with NVIDIA graphics that when I lock the screen the screen shuts off versus the screen glow that 5.2-4 has. Is there a way to have the same lock screen option that was in 3.8 in 5.4? I hope this makes sense as O know the same option is in Ubuntu GNOME when you lock a screen and wondered why it was working in 3.8 and not the newer versions. Thank you.
Joe
