Hey guys. Newbie here. Installed LinuxLite with all the updates and drivers on an old machine. HP HG70 Notebook PC. I couldn't get a wireless connection so I figured the card was old. So I bought a Panda USB Wireless adapter - PAU06. The machine doesn't even recognize it. Was wondering if anyone had the same problem. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I noticed that when I open the same file in Libre Office on Win 10 and LL 4 there are small differences in the formating. Does anyone know what's the cause of this and if there is a way to prefent it?

I called Dropbox support yesterday to get some assistance and the technician informed me DB will no longer support Linux.  Just thought I give a heads up.  As such I'm moving to pcloud which does support linux.  I'm a complete newb and software installed very easy for me for whatever thats worth.

My issue is this. When I boot a recently fresh install of LL 3.8 the screen resolution can only be set at 640x800. But when I have the live USB in it can be set to 1280x920. Does this have something to do with the SIS chip set? If so what is the solution?

Have seen several threads around on the web (not just on LL forum) where users complains about usb drives that Linux for some reason does not mount automatically just after the device is plugged in.
I too have had this issues, and it seem to boil down to a few common factors. - Regular usb sticks (thumb drives) have never being an issue for me, it have always being those card readers with multiple slots for various memory cards that seems to be prone to this issue. - It is always memory cards that have being used in cameras (in todays case - a dashcam).- Memory card have not being formatted for a long period of time.

New interesting readingA couple of weeks ago I read a local (that is in norwegian) article on why format memory cards instead of just delete one by one file. So the article stated that one should avoid deleting files on memory cards by using the camera, because cameras often have poor file system suport, and therefore it is a chance of have a corrupted file system.
A practical test that pretty much confirm that the SD card file system is the cause of the problemSo when I inserted the SD card from the dashcam into the card reader, the volume did not mount automatically. I tried this several times without success.Then I found an older SD card (refers to as SD 2) that have being used for normal file storage (not being into a camera). And voilla - there it was, right in front on me on the LL desktop. Tried to insert and remove this card two times, success both times.Then I tried the SD card from the dashcam, no nothing - still doesn't mount.
I also made a similar test on a Linux Mint 18.3 computer, and got similar result.

My conclusion (so far at least)It seems that if there is problems with fat file system, then Linux won't mount the volume.

The issue now is:So I assume there is some issues to the file system on the SD card. The camera can access the files normally, and I assume that the windows 7 computer will be able to access the files on it - because it is a MS file system.
When MS stop supporting windows 7, I'm planning to never be dependent on MS - I will be a full time Linux user. But this - how can I overcome this problem with those SD cards that I cannot access unless hooking the card reader to a MS computer?

Many LL users seem to have problems updating software.

Please check: Start -> Settings -> Lite Sources

Then from all the repositories, choose one which has "ANYCAST" in the region field.
Even if it has already been chosen, click it and then click "Use selected Repository".
Then let the program reconfigure itself and then press Quit.

I had a problem updating software and after doing this, the problem was gone.
Maybe the Lite Sources needed to be explicitly updated like this or maybe it was
just luck - I don't know, but I'd try it if you have update problems, after all, what harm
can it do if the update does not work anyway...

Hello all. I've been dabbling around the edges of linux for a while now.  I decided to dive in.  My wife has an old laptop that I installed linux lite on.  Long story it flies now.  Its super fast.  I want to use this laptop as my work computer.  My employers work computer is old as well and runs windows 7 and it sucks - super slow.  It would be great with a bit of assistance from this community I can sever my windows dependency.

I've been having fun with some Vms I created and installed some WMs; fluxbox, openbox, enlightenment16, i3wm and awesome, and the one I like the most so far is awesome wm. With the rest of the VMs with Arch, CentOS 7, slackware and FreeBSD I had no problems with it, I guess it might be due to the fact that I installed everything; X, display manager, desktop...but with LL there's something I haven't figured out how to solve yet; why lightdm session manager doesn't show the option to choose a different session to login  other than fxce DE? how can I do that? I manage to login to awesome by replacing/removing the .desktop file but then I can no login to xfce. Any suggestios are really appreciated.
Check some captures and see how little resources it uses

Tried LL 4 on two different laptops and it keeps locking up. I guess I'll have to install Linux Mint. That at least seems to be reliable.
