For me, easily the coolest terminal I've ever tried. It does pull in a lot of QT bloat, so just be aware of that.
Code: sudo apt-get install build-essential qmlscene qt5-qmake qt5-default qtdeclarative5-dev qtdeclarative5-controls-plugin qtdeclarative5-qtquick2-plugin libqt5qml-graphicaleffects qtdeclarative5-dialogs-plugin qtdeclarative5-localstorage-plugin qtdeclarative5-window-plugin git
# Get it from GitHub
Code: git clone --recursive https://github.com/Swordfish90/cool-retro-term.git
# Build it
# Compile
# Have fun!

I would like to strip down my Linux lite. I need to run only few programs : firefox browser, lamp server, and owncloud. I do not need any other program and would like to uninstall them all, even if they do not use resources. I am not sure from all those packages witch ones are critical and witch ones are not. Can somebody help me create a list of ALL packages i can remove. Thank you.

HP DC7700 Ultra Slim factor Desktop
model name : Intel® Core2 CPU 6300 @ 1.86GHz
model name : Intel® Core2 CPU 6300 @ 1.86GHz
Architecture: i686
CPU op-mode(s): 32-bit, 64-bit
*-display
description: VGA compatible controller
product: 82Q963/Q965 Integrated Graphics Controller
vendor: Intel Corporation
Updated to LL2.6 from 2.4 via menu/settings/ Lite Upgrade.
Initially no issues on boot start up
Recently now get partial black screen after log on and welcome screen. Get xcfe bar at the bottom, but rest black – i.e no background picture and no icons.

Otherwise all working OK I.e browser, mail etc.
Home folder / linux desktop shows that folders within the desktop are still there and can be activated etc.
Actions taken.
Menu/settings/Display – all appears OK – Monitor still identified and correct resolution.
Menu/settings/appearance seems OK @ MediterraneanWhite
Screensaver set to blank screen only – unchanged - not locked
Power manager – On AC PC activate after 17 min idle. Monitor = sleep after 7 minutes and power down after 17 minutes inactivity.
No other programs added since upgrade to 2.6
Any ideas. Tks

I'm a old fart, 77 year old Missouri Ozarks hillbilly. I've raised and trained mules for the past 60 years on my farm. I'm brand spanking new to Linux and Linux Lite. I've had help getting it installed on my old Acer Aspire 5720Z notebook to replace the Vista it came with. I like it so far, but have had a bit of problem doing a few things. Hope y'all don't mind a old hillbilly asking what you may consider foolish questions.

| Open as Administrator for a panel launcher/icon |

I have a desktop icon/launcher that I've created. It runs the way I need it to, but I have to right click and choose Open as Administrator. I prefer a clean desktop, so I'd like to move this icon to the panel instead.
I have done that, but now I don't know how to choose "Open as Administrator" on an quick launch icon that is the panel.
Is there a workaround for this?

All my machines now on 2.6, including the virtual and notebooks. Upgraded with no problems, just have to remember up update, upgrade, boot, update.
LL is really looking professional now, and if more organisations knew of it, I'm sure they'd seriously consider it. Maybe even including the UK NHS, Government and Police forces, many of which are still paying M$ for XP support.
Still believe the 'Raleigh' should be the default appearance, with it's Windows like scroll bars, but at least it's there for selection, once people realise it's got bars.
I've decided that my present Windows 7 is the last Windows I'll buy, so it's no go to Windows 10, and no worries about having to throw out propitiatory software because of driver incompatibilities, yet again. That's something I don't think M$ ever factors in properly.
Anyway, I have a new home brew machine in the pipeline, based on another Mini-ITX, but with 16 GB of memory, just the 2 TB drive to get. I intend on running LL as the main operating system, supporting XP (without net access) in Virtualbox configured with 2 X 500GB drives. Most of my virtual machine work so far has been with VMware on Windows 7, so hope the intended Virtualbox configuration works okay.
Why am I still going to use XP? ,
to support Winamp, with a large music library. It's the only Windows program I can't do without.
