| Another Look at Systemd... |

Here is a little different explanation of why systemd has been so widely adopted in most Linux distros. Since most of the stuff I find online is so rabidly anti-systemd, I think it's only fair to post a succinct explanation of why it is used in Debian, Ubuntu, and Linux Lite. Enjoy!

Hello,
I'm trying to install LL 5.4 on my old Lenovo Think Pad x100e.
The device has a BIOS.
It sucessfully boots from USB. I can see the initall screen to select to run LL or install it.
The installation/live boot works unitl some point. It seems just before rebooting it just shuts down. But I'm not sure if it is trying to reboot or some other error is ocurring before.
It happens so fast I can not even see an error message.
I have a Win10 installation on the device already but plan to whipe it entily to only run LL on the system.
Best ANGU

I have Linux Lite on a fairly old Lenovo S21e laptop. Previously I ran Cinnamon Mint but changed to LL because of very limited memory. Generally it works fine, but unlike Mint, where the BT did work, I just cannot seem to get the BT up and running. I installed/uninstalled bluez, then blueman (on now) - no joy.
All I want is to be able to use a BT mouse without dongle and to connect my BT headphones.
Thanks in advance for any tips / tricks / fixes

| Clearsigned file isn't valid, got 'NOSPLIT': error message several weeks |

A year ago I had a friend install Linux Lite for me in an Oracle Virtual Box. I have been very satisfied with how it works according to what I need. Once a week I routinely install all the needed updates, but the past 3 or 4 weeks it has not been working. It gives instead a sort of error log, in which the line maybe most relevant is:
«Clearsigned file isn't valid, got 'NOSPLIT' (does the network require authentication?)»
As I remember I did not modify anything in the setup. I have tried with different "Lite Repository Mirrors", but that did not help.
I am not an advanced Linux user. Do I now have to do a special authentication to update? Where? Thank you.

I can't boot into my desktop anymore because my monitor trips out as soon as it loads my desktop. Login screen is fine, just the desktop has a bad resolution set.
I can't figure out for the life of me how to change the resolution back from a recovery terminal. I see xorg.conf isn't really a thing anymore. I can't find any information on the replacement anywhere either, which is weird. I must be using some really wrong keywords.
Well I did find a link telling me to delete "~/.config/monitors.xml" but that doesn't exist in Linux Lite.
tl;dr: Please PLEASE how do I reset the display resolution??? It's 100% broken, monitor flickers with a distorted display please help

I do not use VB and I am curious as to how difficult it may be to use SSH to display a running Vbox system remotely, and to configure SFTP between its host and the remote system it is displayed on. With gnome boxes I can display a running OS in gnome boxes remotely using SSH X11 forwarding and SFTP to both the host and the remote system it is displayed on from the OS running in gnome boxes and use remmina and/or Thunar bookmarks. File transfer is a breeze, and the whole thing is easy to set up and gives me SFTP between all three systems. Is SSH easily configurable for such a setup in Vbox? With gnome boxes it's a breeze.
My setup is a Debian 10.9 host with gnome boxes, spice tools, and open SSH client and server ( I can SSH both directions) installed. In boxes I run either Linux Lite 5.x or Bunsen Labs. From my permanent LL 5.x desktop with open SSH client and server installed I can SSH X11 forward gnome boxes to my desktop display there and move files back and forth between the two allowing me to experiment with the virtualized LL 5.x system without harming my permanent installation of Linux Lite, all the while using the CPU power and RAM of my host system and being able to transfer files back and forth from my host as well. This is quite a convenience. I just wonder how difficult this would be to achieve with Vbox?

Hello,
I have been a Windows users since Windows 386, yeah I am old. After reading a glowing recommendation of Linux Lite as a replacement for Windows I decided to take the plunge.
Anyway, just tried to install Linux Lite on a Windows PC as a dual boot. Installation seemed to go fine but on reboot I am presented with a prompt for GNU GRUB ver. 2.04 and do not know how to move forward. Any insights, suggestions, help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you all in advance for any help you can offer.
Ed
