Dual GPU AMD and Nvidia cannot use TV-Port (Component)
Posted by: othello7 - 07-26-2021, 03:20 AM - Forum: Video Cards - Replies (2)

This is a pretty advanced problem. I use an MSI Radeon RX 460 2GB model video card for day to day gaming and primary monitor viewing. I would like to be able to use my secondary video card Nvidia GeForce 8600 GTS. In particular, TV-Port component video feature (NTSC 60Hz 640x480). On windows this can be easily accomplished by installing Nvidia drivers or even just going into default advanced settings in some cases. My problem here is not only have I had mixed results from TV port on linux, but I have to use amdgpu drivers in order to even see anything on my primary monitor. I have also tried installing Nvidia drivers alongside existing amdgpu ones but it just reboots into the same black screen I got after install. I looked a little into Dual GPU on linux but most of that seems to be targeted at laptops with Nvidia and Intel graphics. Is this possible? Thanks

  New guy here!
Posted by: Skaunders - 07-25-2021, 03:55 PM - Forum: Introductions - Replies (1)

Hi all, I'm Skaunders. I'm getting into linux because it's what my workplace uses in all their devices so I decided it was in my best interest to learn more about it and how to us it. So I got myself a good usb and burned Linux Lite onto it and loaded it with a virtual box so I could launch it from any computer right off the usb. I found this forum while googling an issue I'm encountering. It looks as though there's a healthy community here and I look forward to getting to know y'all!

  USB Failure
Posted by: lc6529 - 07-23-2021, 01:40 PM - Forum: Other - Replies (1)

Recently installed LL 5.4 on an older Compaq Desktop.  All seems to work pretty well except the USB Webcam and Headset will quit working after about 15/30 minutes into a ZOOM call.

Any suggestions?

Clearing browser cache with Lite Tweaks
Posted by: param96 - 07-23-2021, 12:55 PM - Forum: Suggestions and Feedback - Replies (4)

I have Brave, Firefox and Midori installed on my laptop. I'm able to see Midori and Firefox in Lite Tweaks but there is no brave browser. Is this because I haven't downloaded it through Synaptic Package manager?

Lite Tweaks Quit Working, No Logs
Posted by: Artim - 07-22-2021, 07:20 AM - Forum: Other - Replies (10)

After yesterday's update (which included the kernel), Lite Tweaks no longer works and refuses to keep logs, so it's not possible to tell what has gone wrong.

GPD Win 3 w/ Linux Lite
Posted by: icedigger - 07-21-2021, 07:13 PM - Forum: On Topic - No Replies

Should have this strange device in within a day or 2 and will be attempting to put linux lite on it.

I'll let you know how it turns out or any questions as I am not a linux expert but can hobble around better in linux than I was last year Big Grin

They do have an Ubunut image to put on it but rather put LL on it.

I bought the i7 model.

  Default Keyring
Posted by: MikeReardon - 07-20-2021, 03:36 PM - Forum: Security & Bug Fixes - Replies (3)

Hi

I am a recent Linux Lite 5.4 convert.

Previously successfully bypassed request: An application wants to create a new keyring called 'Default Keyring' even though I never set it nor did it accept my system password.  I thought that I had set up auto login but now I confirmed it via menu choice.

My question is where on the Lite menu do I access "Passwords and Keys" as you might in Ubuntu?  Is the only access via installing seahorse as I understand from the other forum links?

I ask because I may want to activate keyrings at a later time.  Thanks in advance for the help.

  How to update Zoom
Posted by: jeeaik - 07-20-2021, 03:44 AM - Forum: Other - Replies (3)

To whom it may concern,

I am new to Linux Lite from Windows. Zoom requests the type of Linux (I select Other Linux OS since Linux Lite is not listed) and the version. The version options to select are gcc 4.7+ and gcc 4.6+. Which one do I select?

Regards,
Jee-Aik
