"Upgrade" Xbuntu 20.04.2 to Linux Lite 5.2
Posted by: HiTechHiTouch - 02-15-2021, 04:28 PM - Forum: Installing Linux Lite - Replies (1)

I like running LL on one of my machines so much that I want to update/upgrade/convert my two other Linux machines.

I particularity want the LL desktop, and I expect to loose XCFE and Gtk customization.

I want to preserve all the applications I've installed, SMB/networking, MythTV, GCC build environments, etc.

Any suggestions how to approach this?

  Linux 5.2 window manager
Posted by: jim - 02-13-2021, 11:03 PM - Forum: Installing Linux Lite - Replies (3)

Installed this version about 2 month.  The problem is this, the window manager will only allow one window  at a time.  If I open a spreadsheet and select File/Open.  The Open File dialog opens and the Main Window closes, when the Open File dialog closes the main window opens.
Any help would be appreciated.

  Update error - cdrom?
Posted by: whirlygirl - 02-13-2021, 11:03 PM - Forum: Installing Linux Lite - Replies (1)

Hi.  I just installed linux lite on an old HP. I installed from a dvd I burned to on the same computer.  When I try to update I get the following error.  I am a complete novice. I tried reading other threads, but they didn't seem to pertain, so I am sorry if this is a duplicate.

Hello.  I am using a Dell laptop with Linux 4.8.  The battery icon is present, showing 0% charge and no time indicator.  BIOS indicates "battery charging disabled.  Battery status shown as ok.  Laptop works fine on line power.  Original Dell charger and battery.  Laptop only 3 years old.

Here is the acpi -V result

  Intel Optane on LinuxLite
Posted by: Nyto - 02-13-2021, 04:07 PM - Forum: On Topic - Replies (1)

Is it planned, in a near future, to add Intel Optane support?
I was reading that THERE IS support on SLED already, so I hope is not proprietary and makes it out to the open source community eventually, but that's only me dreaming.

...I mean real support, not just recognising it as an Nvme block.

Thanks and have a good weekend.

Connecting a lap top with Linux lite to a tv
Posted by: acrome77 - 02-09-2021, 11:34 PM - Forum: Other - Replies (2)

Hello not sure if this is the right spot to ask this question

How do I connect my lap to to my tv with an HDMI cable ? I connected to two up but instead of the tv acting as the monitor the screen from my laptop is in the top left hand corner I tried to get a screen shot to add but it would not let me. The tv screen had the linux lite symbol ( the feather or what ever it is) and the laptop screen is a small section of the top left corner even when i adjust the settings so the tv is the main monitor the same issue image in top left hand corner not the whole screen I've been able to do this with a windows lap top and pc but not Linux I have a pc with Linux mint 19.03 and my Linux lite laptop 5.2

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

  Arranque muy lento
Posted by: Mikix - 02-09-2021, 10:21 PM - Forum: Spanish [Spanish] - Replies (4)

!!SALUD!! 8)
