BR8041 USB Bluetooth dongle does not work with LL 5.0

Hello,

I cannot start Blueman with this USB dongle:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/USB-Bluetooth-5...2749.l2649

I have been unable to use it. Seller says it's supposed to be plug&play.

When I run

Code:
sudo lsusb -v | grep -i bluetooth

I get this output:

  Copying Files - SLOOWWWWW
Posted by: lc6529 - 02-08-2021, 11:14 PM - Forum: Other - Replies (1)

Just a question, why is copying files to a thumb drive so slow?

I have USB 3 ports and whereas copying files to the drive on a Windows computer is reasonable, if I do so in Linux Lite it seems to take an inordinate amount of time.

If I take this same drive to a Laptop running LinuxFx (the Linux Windows 10 clone) and copy files it does so as quickly as a Windows 10 box.

Is there a switch I am missing?

This happens regardless if I use my new SanDisk 64 gig drive or a 32 gig cruzr drive or a 250 Gig drive

Thumbdrive... Error creating mount point -- No space left on device
Posted by: HiTechHiTouch - 02-08-2021, 06:34 PM - Forum: Other - Replies (3)

I have several USB drives, from a NTFS 2T drive down to a old 512MB FAT one.  All fail the same way.

Linux Lite 5.4.0-64-generic (x86_64) Version #72-Ubunut SMP Distribution Ubuntu 20.04.2  System information report attached to posting.

1. Insert the FAT formatted drive into the USB port.  It has a single 31.9MB partition formatted with the FAT file system.  480 MB remains in unpartitioned space.
2. An icon appears on the desktop for the device.  Icon is a USB stick.  Mouse over says "Removable Volume Not Mounted Yet".
3. Right click on icon, menu shows "Open", "Mount volume", "Properties" (greyed out), "Applications".  Click on Mount.

Pop-up opens "Mount Failed" "Failed to Mount DD-WRT-30M" "Error creating mount point 'media/jared/DD-WRT-30M': No space left on device."

There's plenty of space on my unix partition, /home has 10G free, / (file system) has 72GB free.  The USB stick has a FAT partition of 32M with 17M free.  I think the message is lying about no space left.

Where can I look for more diagnostic information?  Thanks!

Prepare for Shipping Gone [OEM Install]
Posted by: shawnFRITA - 02-05-2021, 12:49 AM - Forum: Installing Linux Lite - Replies (9)

We started using LinuxLite for our computer refurbs and we installed using the OEM install .  at first we saw the prepare for shipping icon on the desktop  and in accessories.
When we was setting up a desktop to show the customer the system worked, we noticed the desktop icon is missing and its no longer in the accessories section.
we can verify that the OEM logon is the temporary account from the login. (also in the users account section)

any idea where/what happened?

Unable to set refresh rate via HDMI
Posted by: Xotty - 02-03-2021, 07:44 PM - Forum: Video Cards - Replies (10)

Hi All,

Almost finished tweaking my new install. Coming from Win10.
I had screen tearing with Nvidia driver that I finally managed to solve but I could not get my monitor working 120Hz with HDMI. It worked under Windows and my monitor support 144Hz max. I know 144Hz only works with display port. Tried with Nouveau driver as well but same, only 60Hz is available. My laptop is an MSI CX62-2QD with Nvidia 940M
My Nvidia setting panel is looking a bit weird, I think a lot of things are missing from it eg. resolution setting, refresh rate setting...

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1HwbZK_R...sp=sharing

I tried to add custom refresh rates with xrandr but I could only manage to set it to 75Hz
