  Are file comments possible?
Posted by: Tyrannocaster - 10-05-2020, 01:54 PM - Forum: Other - Replies (5)

Is it possible using Linux to do the equivalent of what you can do on a Mac with file comments? That is, a separate comment about the file that you add to it later but which is separate from it, yet stays attached to it and can be edited. They are really useful for labeling things or making notes about whatever. This question may not make sense to people who haven't used it on a Mac, in which case I suppose it's probably not possible to do with Linux.

  Repository Server Updated
Posted by: valtam - 10-05-2020, 09:23 AM - Forum: On Topic - Replies (2)

Just an update that I have just finished building a new repository/ftp server based on the latest packages. The old server was based on 14.04, out of date.

If you have any problems with Lite Info or getting connection errors with Install Updates, please let me know here.

The new server is free and is thanks to Thomas and the team at Fosshost.org who approached us via email last month. So that will save us $30 per month Smile

The old server will run for 1 more month to ensure this server is solid and reliable.

  Error in languages

Linux lite does not adapt particularly well to the language in which it is installed and should be fixed to improve the user experience

Hola, amigos. Gracias.

Cannot copy and paste search result files?
Posted by: Rapidrob - 09-28-2020, 02:29 PM - Forum: Other - Replies (3)

Putting LL on a friends desktop computer. He gave me a 1Tb thumb drive with thousands of photos, vids and documents on it.
If I search the TD and put in .jpg it finds thousands of photos. If I high-lite the .jpgs it is not possible to right click and copy or cut these files.
Is there a way to copy these .jpg's and put them in the Photos files without having to do all the steps in the command function?

Which of these is not LL files?
Posted by: This PC - 09-28-2020, 01:36 PM - Forum: On Topic - Replies (1)

Hi,

As seen in the image, i installed Android x86 in the same partition as LL. I just wanted to experiment what happens when you install more than one OS in the same partition. And, as result, x86 grub replaced the LL grub so I couldn't access LL because it is not shown in x86 menu. Now, I've booted into LL using EasyBCD (installed in windows) boot menu that led me to LL grub menu.

Android x86 has only 2 folders after installation (i noticed it when i installed it in empty partition earlier but i can't recall their folder names). One of them is obviously `cm-x86....` and i don't know which one is the other folder. I've already deleted this folder. Just wanted to know about the other one. I'm not familiar with Linux system files so I'd try not mess with them unless I'm sure.
