I have noticed that sometimes when I and others make a POST the font size is very tiny and contains a lot of of Formatting information that was not there when the post was submitted.
If I copy and paste some text within the post -- the font size gets changed during the process the only way that works for me to get it the correct size is to "Paste as Plain Text"(ie -with no formatting)
Thinking about this is it possible to make sure that only Plain Text can be allowed to be pasted into forum post writing .

Up until a few weeks ago I had a dual boot set-up with WIN XP and L.LITE 1.0.8 / and I wanted to upgrade to L.L. 2.6.
I managed to get L.L. 2.6 installed and all is running ok.
The problem is that I have lost WIN XP OS and it's partitions are now taken up by L.L. / all of the Hard Disk is now occupied by L.L. / there is no GRUB Menu it boots staight into L.L. 2.6.
What I want is a dual boot set-up as before.
Is this possible???
Or do I have to remove L.L. 2.6 and re-install Windows first and then L.Lite.
PS. New to linux / still learning.

DPI Scaling?

Does Linux Lite provide support for high resolution monitors? I have been able to resize my desktop icons and the whisker menu independently of each other so they look okay. And I was able to scale the system fonts so they are readable, however things like the window title bars (whose height never changes even though the fonts did) and the min, max, close, buttons are a mystery to me. Is there a global setting for adjusting the DPI?

Got a problem entering passwords that are not correct.
This has been going on for a while without understanding what was going on for a while .
Today I tried to to sign into a user account but I was unable to to get the 2 passwords to match how ever careful I typed them in . Because they are only seen as *** I cannot see what is going on .
I had a similar intermittent problems a few years ago with my Samsung NC110 when I thought it was either the keyboard or the motherboard. I changed the motherboard and my problems went away . I definitely think it is a Hardware problem .
Has anyone experienced similar problems as it is driving me crazy. Probably it is the cause of why I have had one problem after another trying to restore both Windows 7 and LinuxLite

New here on Linux and I am known as "Lucky" which is my real first name. Please don't ask why all I know is that is on my Birth Certificate and have received a lot of comments about it from friends and teachers as well as Professors not believing it but thinking it is a nick name.
I have only worked, studied, both academically and professionally in Windows Environment and fed up with Microsoft's antics of change for the better. I do desire to get into development for Linux for software needs. Just need learn what software packages on Linux and the needs of that programming language packages are available for such.
Respectfully
Lucky

Hardware database

Would it be possible to make the database searchable online preferably - combining archive and live databases. Alternatively a downloadable spreadsheet which could be quizzed in Calc or similar?
Purpose to ease the path for newbies; increase confidence etc.
Also would it be viable to increase hardware categories to include scanners, printers and wifi cards. i.e. make model number etc.

It would be useful to me if in addition to "replies to my posts " could be extended to show " all the topic I have posted to" .
It would be useful to easily look back when i forget what I posted if the problem comes back when I upgrade or have to reinstall which I had to do when I had an unsolvable problem recently . I assume the bookmark save would do the same but it needs my input which is not the first thing to do when I am trying to get my computer working .

Shutdown ignoring any prompts

Hi, I want to configure the shutdown to shutdown without any interaction. For example I have 2 virtual machines running and when I press the power button I get a message asking if I want to close the virtual machine. I want Linux Lite to ignore these windows and shut down. Is there a way of re-configuring the shutdown to be a forced shutdown.
